Concrete grades as per BS 5328
Grade M10~ 1 cement :4 sand :8 aggregate (Strength 10N/mm2) After 28 Days
Assume volume of concrete given is 1m3 (Dry Volume)
Wet Volume = Dry Volume x 1.54 (This 1.54 is factor for accounting shrinkage and wastage of material in concrete)
Wet Volume = 1 x 1.54 = 1.54m3
Total ratio sum = 1+4+8=13
Cement Calculation:
Cement= (Cement Part)/(Total Ratio) X Wet Volume
Cement= 1/13 X 1.54 = 0.119m3
(Density of Cement = 1440Kg/m3 and 1Bag of cement is 50Kg)
Weight of cement = Density x Volume = 1440 x 0.119 =170.58Kg
Number of Cement Bag =(170.58)/50 = 3.41 ~ 3.5 Bag
Sand Calculation:
Sand= (Sand Part)/(Total Ratio) X Wet Volume
Sand= 4/13 X 1.54 = 0.474m3
Sand Volume required 0.474m3
(In case you use Tipper Truck with 3.5m3 capacity means it’s less than 1 Trip)
Aggregate Calculation:
Aggregate= (Aggregate Part)/(Total Ratio) X Wet Volume
Aggregate= 8/13 X 1.54 = 0.948m3
Aggregate Volume required 0.948m3
(In case you use Tipper Truck with 3.5m3 capacity means it’s less than 1 Trip)
