The first one is the Water resource engineering
Basically water resource engineers design systems and equipment that help manage human water resources so the purpose of the equipment and system is to increase effectiveness and efficiency of water treatment and aquatic resource management basically they oversee the construction and they also implement the equipment and the systems a fun completion of those water resource equipment's it's also the responsibility to maintain it so they have a balance of working in the office and also in the field.
But mainly they do office works gathering and looking for data and design new water resource system of management.
The major modules here are hydrology, water supply, sanitation and water resources planning and management.
The importance of water resource engineers is to preserve fresh water sources and find new ones.
The second one is Geotechnical engineering
Basically geotechnical engineers does the site investigation before the start of any construction involved during the design and overall construction, they investigate and understand what is beneath the earth's surface and determines if it affects the construction of any structure such as residential buildings, commercial buildings, bridge, Dam, Road or even skyscrapers some of their projects are drilling wells construction of production and storage facilities transporting petroleum products and also examining ground water flow most of the time they work at the office because that is the place where they do their investigations and also testings however sometimes they also go to the site to do their site visits.
As geotechnical engineers you can be employed by colleges contractors, utility companies, mining companies ,government jobs and also oil and gas exploration companies.
The major modules here are Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
Geotechnical engineers are important because they allow the design and construction of stable structures this means that the structure doesn't settle, deform, crack or do not fall down because of foundation failures.
The third one is Structural engineering
The structural engineers job is to maintain the integrity of a physical structure and make sure that they are able to handle loads and forces mostly they focus on low rise building, high rise buildings, Hydraulic Structures, underground structures etc.
Structural engineer work in government agencies,private companies as a consultants for architectural and design build contractors so what they do is after the plans are designed.
The major modules here are Structural Mechanics, Analysis, Civil Engineering Material and Structural design.
Structural engineers calculate the forces that can be applied to that structure and they determine what structural systems can be used for that specific construction for example they will determine if that project needs to use wood concrete or even steel most structural engineers work in construction consulting companies structural engineers are important because they oversee the safety and durability of buildings and structures.
The fourth one is Transportation engineering
Transportation engineers plan design implement transportation systems usually they design public transportation paths highways bridges and any structures for transportation they also investigate traffic problems and recommend solutions to improve those traffic problems.
Usually traffic engineers work in government agencies and also consulting firms example TARURA, TANROADs, etc
The major modules here are Geometric design,Civil Engineering Material,Pavement design etc
Traffic engineers are important because they are the ones who understands the interaction between infrastructure individual units and also the users basically they are the ones who are understanding the system as a whole.
The fifth type is construction engineering
Construction engineers plans directs and supervises construction projects they also analyze the financial projections of a project and make sure that it is accurate and practical they also evaluate the plans designed and inspect all the drawings basically they oversee engineering processes such as contract terms prevent project relay cost control and even management of project schedule they also work for private companies and also government agencies construction engineers act as a leader on the construction of a project they make sure that everything is safe smooth within the budget and structurally sound alright guys.
The major modules here are Construction Management, Planning, Quantity Estimations, Building Construction & Maintenance, Road Construction & Maintenance.
